I sell collectible books online, and I’m trying to tighten up my listing workflow. If I do 15 books in a day, photos are still the bulk of the work, and I’ve accepted that part. You cant really automate good condition shots, especially for used books. The photos are part of what makes the listing trustworthy.
The tedious part is everything after that... pulling metadata from copyright pages, writing condition notes, building the draft, reusing the listing template, uploading the rest of the photos, and getting everything into the final listing.
None of its difficult, it’s just a lot of small repetitive steps that pile up fast. People who list books or other condition-sensitive collectibles at volume: how are you handling the post-photo part of the workflow?
Not looking for “use stock photos.” I care a lot about actual condition photos because online book shopping has gotten pretty miserable. I’m mostly curious if anyone has found a cleaner system than manually stitching the whole listing together one item at a time.
I’ve been experimenting with a more structured workflow that cuts time, but I’m curious what other people have landed on before I overdo my own solution.
