Musculoskeletal imaging is challenging when patient movement affects scan quality, thoughts?

An MRI in-bore camera could provide real-time visual monitoring during scans, helping technologists better understand movement and positioning inside the MRI bore.

Do you see future applications for movement tracking during MRI exams?

MRI Safety OSHA Petition Submitted- A coalition of MRI Field Engineers, MRI Safety Officers & Techs and MRI Safety Champs are raising MRI Room safety concerns to OSHA

Hi all,
A first of its kind MRI room safety OSHA petition has been submitted OSHA to improve MRI room safety.
Following on the heels of the death of the MRI patient in Long island, the nurse being crushed in Redwood City Kaiser, the recent MRI technologist attacks in the MRI room, uncovered news of the field engineer being stuck to a magnet overnight, and the Prisoner and his officer being stuck to the magnet in Arizona have culminated in a OSHA petition.
The goal is to bring attention to real safety issues and push for better standards. The OSHA process needs input. The OSHA investigator for the petition would like to talk to stakeholders. This can be done anonymously. She wants to understand specifically what happens in the MRI room and if new regulations requiring some additional basic safety devices or if new policies requiring better MRI room protocol would be helpful. She wants to see both sides of the coin meaning she would be interested in talking to naysayers as well as proponents of safety in the MRI room.
If you’ve faced any issues or have thoughts, she would appreciate hearing them. Contact: Simone at SSumeshwar@dir.ca.gov
Thanks!
