When yet another a neighbor told me he was an old Uranium Miner back in the days when Uravan was still around, I had to ask him... "do you have any specimens?"
Here is what I was able to come away with! This is rich yellow Uranopilite that glows woth a fierce neon green reaction under 365 nm UV light. The lesser reaction comes from dull yellow Schoepite. There are also some beautiful Gypsum crystals on the edges of the Uranopilite. All of this on a host rock of dense and extremely high grade Uraninite that wont let my meter anywhere near it without screaming. Over 1.5 million CPM at hotspot with Radiacode 110 and hot all over.
From an awesome anonymous old miner and his old worksite circa 1970's, Colorado.
