I am doing O levels privately and there are a lot of moderns in my class, many do wear hijabs but it's more of street wear paired with hijab (Those girls are so chatpati 😔🙏✨✨).
There are barely 2 niqabis in my class and I get judged a lot for wearing one which is wuteveh cuz I also do judge people but the thing is that I don't treat them as someone lowly, I don't treat them as illiterate, my behaviour isn't different with them than others and I don't stop speaking English when talking to them (I GOT A* IN ENGLISH AND YES I AM FLEXING MUAHHAHAHAHAH but again English doesn't guarantee being smart. I am still smart tho 💅💅)
This is why I wanna know what people think about niqabis in general because I understand, I also have stereotypes in my subconscious mind about certain classes which is ofc a bad thing but being a part of Prejudiced society isn't so fun, mind you. But as I said, I am not gonna treat them differently because of that part of them, a benefit of doubt is a must. Even if they do fit that stereotype and I have a problem with that, I am still not going to treat them as a peasant and have superiority complex 🥀🥀👩🦯
Anyways tea time, I had this friend and the first time, I showed her my face, the literal words that came out of her mouth was "Ap achi dekhti ho tu ap niqab kyun krti ho??" Arryyy meri bhen 😭😭🙏 And the irony is that her mother was a niqabi but the point is not who she is and what she is but heyy do you think your mother is wearing niqab because she is ugly? Which is super weird. I let that slide but that still stuck with me to this day that hey, people think I am wearing a niqab cuz I am ugly?
And she wasn't a hijabi so on the other hand, my friend's mother was also separately pressurising me to tell my friend to start wearing hijab, but mane katta diya and once directly told her that your mother is saying this cuz I just didn't wanna be involved. And I am mentioning this cuz it does affect one's behaviour towards hijab or hijabis based on how it was introduced to them. Her mom was lwk chill on the surface but idk.
Btw no shade to anyone, I just find this whole thing interesting, my whole purpose of this post is to know the society better and not have zero civic sense (please get the reference 😝😝😝)
