I have been doing CRT (vic) for a little while now. I have been booked by a school every day for the entire term - beauty! Job security! Love it.
However it has begun to occur to me that I could be a ‘just in case’ cover. I have been cancelled twice around 60 min before start in the past 3 weeks. First time I was able to secure work elsewhere but the second time I was unable to as it was so late - so I miss out on a days income where I could have picked up work if they had of cancelled me earlier.
Is this the norm? Or am I in the right to be frustrated? I have heard CRT work has been a bit less reliable this year so I am grateful to be picking up work - but I can’t help but be a bit frustrated at the situation. I have received good feedback lately too.
