Stay in Athens and Day Trip or Athens + Island?

Hi everyone,

Looking to book a last minute trip for Greece for next month.

I am getting overwhelmed with the amount of options. I am looking to go for 10 days, 14 max. This would be my first solo trip, first time in Greece, 27y F. I do not want to rent a car.

I was thinking of either staying in Athens for 10 days and signing up for day tours to Nafplio or Delphi or Corinth, and to the island Hydra or Aegina.

The other option is to stay in Greece for 4 nights and then go to either corfu, Naxos or Crete.

I am not sure which option to pick. I am interested in a bit more greenery in the scenery, not much of a beach person but still want to have the beach to swim as an option, I like hiking up to see beautiful views, good food/wineries is importantly for me, monasteries and architecture I’d love to see. For this trip I’m envisioning a mix of culture and sight seeing and relaxation, but I am not sure which option to pick.

Since I don’t want to rent a car i would sign up for day trips from either chania or Naxos

Thank you

Hi everyone,

Looking to leave this month for Spain but due to personal situations I had to push my trip a week back. The Seville leg wouldn’t be until the last week of May.

Is that too hot to visit Seville? Would it be over 85 or 90 degrees Fahrenheit or stay in the 70-80 zone?

Should I look into going to Central Europe instead (krakow Vienna Prague and Budapest)? Seville is at the top of my bucket list but trying to plan accordingly. I don’t know if I should switch my trip or if I have nothing to worry about.

Thank you so much !

Hello everyone,

I’ve been dreaming of Spain for the longest time and now I get to go! I want to go this month in May and looking to book something last minute.

I’m also going to be taking my job while in Madrid. I was thinking of landing Madrid on a Saturday, using Saturday to get situated and Sunday having that day. I work weekdays from 3 PM - 12 AM European time (8-5 PM CT USA hours).

I was originally thinking about landing in Madrid on Saturday and departing for Granada that following Thursday (taking Thursday and Friday off to see Granada and staying there on Saturday). After Granada I would go to Seville for 6 nights where I’d use all my PTO time and have time to see Ronda, Cordoba and maybe Cadiz.

My questions:

  1. I am wondering if 5 nights is enough time for Madrid if I am working those hours but would also like to take a day trip to either Toledo or Segovia one of those days. I’m wondering if 5 is good given my situation or if I should move it to 6

  2. If I am using all my PTO time in Seville, I’m wondering if 6 nights is too many if I am using that time to explore the city and also planning on taking a day trip to Ronda and Cordoba.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I have a trip planned to Spain next month in May.

My original plan was to do Madrid first and then get to Seville by late May, the third week of May.

Now I am a bit worried reading about the heat and how hot it can get.

I can be flexible and switch my dates and do Seville the second week of May.

But I’m not sure if it’s that big of a deal between the third and second week of May or if there really is a big difference and I should try to get there earlier.

Thank you
