Just the whole thing. FIFA's greedy-ass ticket pricing has guaranteed that for the first time in my life, I'm actually living in a host city and I can't go to a game. I watched USMNT games in the late 80's on a little black and white tv - commercial breaks and all - and I think I've missed maybe a handful of games ever. I saw the US 5-0 Scotland friendly on my 40th birthday and met Klinsmann and the players the day before. The vibe was different. We were always punching above our weight. The was the perception, at least. And that gave the team a bit of an edge. I don't really see that with this group. I see a lot of money being thrown around by people who have no ties to American soccer, so no skin in the game, trying to buy "the best" to manage "the best" generation of players US Soccer has produced. Maybe by the numbers that's true, but to a man and collectively that edge doesn't exist. I don't feel like I really know who they're playing for. I not sure who Poch is coaching for. I don't know who US Soccer thinks they're representing. Pretty telling that Matt Crocker just jumped ship for a bigger payday. We lack soul. We need to find that or we're cooked this summer. It's pretty simple.
