Microbiome research shows link involving M.E.

Just sharing this interesting news I found posted in the microbiome sub. I've actively been trying to diversify my fibre intake for a few years now so this is something else to look at.

From the press release:

"In a huge global study led by University of Cambridge researchers, a single group of bacteria - named CAG-170 - has repeatedly shown up in high numbers in the gut microbiomes of healthy people.

[...]

They found the level of CAG-170 present was consistently higher in healthy people than those with [13] diseases including inflammatory bowel disease, obesity and chronic fatigue syndrome."

From the paper:

"In the differential abundance analysis, 11/13 (85%) of CAG-170 species were found to be associated with health in the context of Crohn’s disease, myalgic encephalomyelitis, [...]"

TL;DR: bacteria group CAG-170 is found in higher numbers in healthy people than those with M.E.
