Hello, my fellow LitRPG lovers. I'm passing through to share my excitement and tell you about The Sworn Sword (and give away some Audible credits), so let me slick my hair back and do the pitch :)

A guy wakes up in chains, stuck in a rolling cart of prisoners, and headed to the barracks in the elven capital city. He's never played the game. Nobody has for twenty years. The last ones that played it died in their VR pods, and the project was wholly abandoned.

But Aeryn is here, and there's no way out. And he's gifted/cursed with the very thing that broke the game once before: magic. Here, using Mana is an immediate death sentence.

Unless you're strong enough and smart enough to avoid it.

Aeryn's life becomes entwined with those of his fellow soldiers and that of the Heir Apparent after Aeryn prevents an assassination plot against him.

But can he hide his powers long enough to become a killing machine and prove his usefulness to the Crown?

(Pitch over!)

If you like MCs who aren't heroes, who don't want to be heroes, but who do heroic deeds just because they're the right thing to do, this could be the story for you. And if you think so too, the good news is:

Two novels are out. 250,000 words of fiction (or 27 hours), available to borrow with Kindle Unlimited or listen to with Audible. (And the third installment arrives in less than a month.)

On a personal note

I'm a huge fan of game elements, virtual realities, systems breaking down, and MCs who won't necessarily save the world, but will be the tool for others to save it. I'm writing an epic fantasy I've always wanted to read, so join the adventure if you like.

Here are the useful links, and then the giveaway.

Assassin Awakens on Amazon: https://readerlinks.com/l/5111235

Assassin Awakens on Audible: https://readerlinks.com/l/5189051

(Best to read in order, since it's a series. And if you have read the first one already, Level-Up Assassin is available on Amazon and Audible too.)

Seriously. Pitch over. For good.

For a chance to win a free Audible credit (not reserved for my books; it's for the entire US Audible store), drop a comment below. If you're not sure what to say, tell me what about a new book makes you start a series. And tell me what keeps you reading.

Basically, I want to flip the tables over, and have some positive speak about our genre. We often complain about what makes us DNF, but I'd rather know what makes you go all the way.

And while you're at it, give me an example of a book that got you hooked. I always need more recs!

(I'll close this giveaway in some 48-72 hours and announce the two randomly selected winners in this post.)
