5 yrs old cavities $4500 bill
Hello fellow parents,
My kid is 5 yrs old and we just got a $4500 bill from a pediatric dentist in RIchmond for looking after 7 fillings, 1 extraction( with root canal) and space maintenance under general anesthesia.
My work insurance will cover around 1k. I am a single parent and looking for an advice to deal with the situations. As much as I am shocked by the bill, they need to be done soon so that it doesn’t get worse. I phoned UBC but it seems like a long wait. We can consider trying with sedation for 800 cheaper but if it fails I am paying for sedation plus GA. Considering the situations, I hate to admit GA is our only options.
I tried to look for a general dentist but no GA options. I have spent almost a week trying to look into my options working full time and I feel like I hit a deadline having to pay this bill eventually to help my kid in the best way. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you for reading.
