Busted a 12 year old Punch Tool

Here's a pic of my 12 year old Fluke punch tool which is the Harris D914 OG design Fluke must have bought or something as at the time no one else was making this exact design with Greenlee being the closest replica but a terrible one that was cheap plastic and never lasted long.

Anyway the pin broke here as you can see and it just depressed easily with no snap back so I thought in 25 years I ain't ever done this before so I prayed this sucker apart at lunch to take a look and was surprised how much goes into the innnerworkings here!!!

Anyway I got to pull out my old back up tool and realized when I found it I had this 24 years ago!!!! It's still kicking and definitely worse for wear but the actual Harris D914 legend. It made it a whole day and about 100 Leviton extreme Cat6 jacks!!!! Probably retire it now though as the replacement appears to be another Harris patent look alike and is very nice actually but get this $14 freaking dollars compared to the $150 it used to be when I started this back in the late 90's!! We'll see if it holds up but the plastic and design is on point and best part is, no soft handed rubber grip to hang up sliding in and out of my gunslinger holster and BOTH SPUDGER AND PICK!!! they never have both without having the soft hand grip.

Anyway I'll let you know I have about another 300 jacks on that job!!!!

Best Classic type Snips

Man! I've been looking for so long the original classic snip design and every pair has been disappointing for decades and no, I'm old and do not want to change to hedge trimmer garden shears, rubber dipped bat wing handled snips or any other spin off. These fit in my pouch, I have been spinning them for years like they're my 6 guns and they cut damn near anything. Everything else is soft hands.

Anyway for the first time ever my garden shears using partner are made by Crescent. So I thought his are pretty damn sharp and last a decent amount of time as well as tolerances are acceptable I'll check Amazon to see if they make old school snips and they do!!!!

I've tried every other snip manufacturer under the sun and none! I MEAN NONE, Compare to these!!! Absolutely amazing and so precision but my favorite part is the feel of them when you ou cut jet line or cable and it's a quiet clip like butter!

I bought a pair for my partner to show him what he's been missing out on since he's been at it and he even admitted to how badass they are and he loves his garden sheers! (I just call them that but they're work sheer type).

Anyway try these I bought 3 pairs so far to have a back up and all 3 are perfect and high quality steel!

You're welcome!
