are language electives doable for science majors? (1st year)

or i guess an applied science major (ahn). never took french or spanish or any other languages other than english and i’m really open to learn a new one but i’m a bit scared it’ll consume too much of my energy when i need it for the more science heavy classes i have like chem and bio. has anyone been in the same boat and what’s your workload experience with it? at the same time, i’d love to learn a new language thru uni but i also dont wanna throw out my gpa and burn myself out idk if this post makes sense LOL

best way to move into res?

hi! as an incoming first year who’s flying in from a different province, what’s the best way to get to guelph? or people in similar situations, what did you do?

i’ll be staying in res and i’ll probably be the only one helping myself out so it be nice to get some advice!

what i was thinking was to fly into hamilton, maybe rent a car (??), move into res and then return the car. that way i could also go to costco to buy any items i coudnt bring with me on the plane. i’ve also seen people use go transit, which isn’t a bad idea but i’m just concerned that my luggage is gonna be too heavy for me to carry by myself

chem 1040 prep (gulp)

hi i’m an incoming first year this fall and i’ll probably have chem 1040 and chem 1050 in the next two semesters. ive seen the horror stories and i am genuinely HORRENDOUS at chem so. i am little bit scared. lol. its such a miracle i was able to get the grade i have in gr 12 chem but it took a lot of hard work and it still wasnt even the greatest :’). i really don’t wanna fail my first year of chem so i’m starting to think if i should start making notes and studying this summer. chem 1040 and 1050 veterans, are there any youtube channels or other resources you would recommend to incoming first years? or idk any advice at all? ive seen 1040 is mostly a review of hs chem but its the intensity and acceleration of the course that catch people off guard so like idk advice? prayers? thoughts? hopes? dreams?
