Lenovo yoga tab (2025) with tab pen pro Overview for art
So I was recently on the lookout for a good new drawing tablet (coming from a tab s6 lite) and had decided to buy this after trying it out at a store and finding the pen quite good together with the specs and price, but I had noticed there were no real artist review online, so here are my tests for anyone else looking at this device for art
I did the main testing on clip studio cause it's what I'm most familiar with, but I also tested on Concepts and infinite painter
So everything seems surprisingly really good, diagonal wobble was negligible, it exists but only if you really look for it (I'd say comparable to my huion kamvas 16 2021). Initial activation was also surprising, being able to begin a line with just the weight of the pen. tilt works flawlessly, directionally as well. Pressure is on the thick side but can be adjusted with a curve in most apps.
The same results I got on infinite painter, But not on Concepts, there is a clear problem with tilt there with an almost instant 0 to 1 jump in tilt level! (Ofc you can disable tilt)
Now for the extra pen features, there is haptic and audio feedback which can change per brush type, pressure and speed, mimicking the feel of actual tools on paper, (perhaps a bit gimmicky but I quite enjoy it so far) and a touch surface which replaces the normal button scheme with 3 function gestures, 1 double tap, 2 swipe up, 3 swipe down.
Those features seem to work across multiple apps, but not all, on clip you can't access the quick gestures and the feedback is only one of the few types which you can choose. On both concepts and infinite painter tho they all work, you get all the different feedback feels from different brushes and can map the gestures to different actions
All in all I'm very excited about this new pen from Lenovo and prefer it to the s pen as far as overall drawing feel goes, hope they'll bring it to most of their tablets!
Other notes: pen nib is hard plastic so you may need a matte screen protector for better control, and the gestures can be kinda hit or miss on their activation, so they miss their "Quick action" purpose.
Additional feedback from other people with the same tablet and pen would be appreciated as I'm also a new user of it!
