Yogabook 9i Gen 8 vs Gen 9

Hi guys

I recently inherited a 2023 Gen 8 Yoga Book 9i at work. It has a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1355U processor, 16GB ram and 1TB storage.

I absolutely love this computer. My company is likely closing down towards the end of this year, and I intend to buy it off them because I love it so much. I am not sure how much they will want for it, maybe around $1,500 - $1,800 AUD (about $1,000 - $1,300 USD) maybe less, maybe more. I might not even need to pay much for it, if at all - I just don't know at this stage.

I have just found a store in Australia selling a brand new, unopened 2024 Gen 9. This one has Intel Core Ultra 7 155U processor, 32GB ram, and 1TB storage. They are selling for $2,000 AUD (about $1,500 USD).

Should I give the Gen 8 back and purchase the Gen 9? How much difference is there between the two? I am particularly interested in the increased ram of the Gen 9.

Also, I do not have the money for a Gen 10 (and I actually don't want one, I prefer the smaller footprint of the Gen 8/9). I'm only really hesitant because I can't judge how much I'd end up paying for the Gen 8. If it was, for example, $1,000 AUD, would it be worth paying another $1k to get the Gen 9 specs?

I would love some input on which way to go!
