The Finnish War in this timeline lasted from 1808 to 1815 and became much bigger than in real life. Sweden lost Finland to Russia, then tried invading Norway to recover its power in Scandinavia. This stretched the Swedish army too far while Russia kept advancing through the north and Baltic coast.

At the same time, Sámi rebellions broke out around Jiellevárri (Gällivare), where Sámi groups resisted Swedish conscription and military rule. Fighting in the north was mostly raids, ambushes, and attacks on supply lines during winter.

By 1815, Russian forces had pushed deep into Sweden and threatened Stockholm. Sweden’s invasion of Norway failed, and Russia ended up dominating most of Scandinavia politically after the war.

Estimated deaths:

Sweden: ~145,000

Russia: ~110,000

Norway/Denmark: ~30,000

Civilians: ~200,000

there is no single POD but Germany surrenders earlier in ww2 (Late 1943) and get punished less harshly. The Turks lose their independence war as America joins the war on Armenias side to create wilsonian Armenia. The occitans succeeded in independence after 1940 As France was balkanized like Yugoslavia and Occitania succeeded in independence As the Félibrige reforms succeeded in occitan nationalism. also the Circassians stayed independent as a Russian puppet, the Sami advanced away from nomadism to rise into a state. and the UK didn’t form as Scotlands economic crisis didn’t happen and the UK collapsed in the 80s, but as England.

basically just the Haida expanding in the 1400s. in the same timeline as my asian North America.
