Aftermarket splash shield

Aftermarket splash shield

For those who do their own oil changes..this aftermarket splash shield is a game changer. No more having to remove 15 screws and dropping the shield. It’s also made of a nice thick(I’d say slightly over 1/4”) plastic compared to the cardboard of the original.

8f35 drain and fill

I bought a 2024 Maverick XL 2.0L AWD with a 4K tow package, which had 38,000 miles when I acquired it about a month ago. After reading several recommendations here, I chose to perform a transmission drain and fill. I completed the task today and am definitely glad I choose to do it. I drained roughly 4.5 quarts and, after warming the truck and transmission, added about 5 quarts. The factory fluid was nearly the color of used motor oil—very dark with only a faint red trace. For good measure, I had 6 quarts available and flushed an extra quart before replacing the check plug. I was undecided about doing it at first, but I am certainly glad I did.

Next on the list are the front and rear diffs. For those hesitant to do the transmission drain and fill, it’s super easy and I definitely recommend it.
