New to Garmin from Apple Watch
Hey everyone,
Garmin has me in a chokehold rn, so the rabbit hole is getting deeper. I’m looking to switch over from an Apple Watch to Garmin and would love some help deciding between the options (for example, I THINK I’ve narrowed it down to the Forerunner 255/265S or Venu 3/3S.. or something else ideally not exceeding $400, but willing to up the budget a bit if it’s needed)
My routine and features break down into this list of must haves and nice to haves:
Must have:
- Running: pace/distance tracking & the ability to pre plan routes
- Hybrid (HIIT workouts): starting my workout with approx. a 3 mile run then immediately jumping into a HIIT (if this is the make or break, and the watch only allows for one workout, requiring me to stop one to start another, that’s a compromise I’m okay with)
- Strength training: essentially to track calories burned. I don’t need a rep count
- Golf: ideally only from a yardage on wrist perspective (I use 18birdies for scorecard so tracking scores isn’t a deal breaker)
- Sleep tracking: this, from my research, is standard
Nice to have:
- Golf hazards (i.e., bunkers, water would be great)
- Cycling: again, this seems standard on all choices
I would prefer to have these in an out of the box approach, not requiring me to download 3rd party apps. For anyone who made the switch from Apple Watch with a similar hybrid lifestyle (running + lifting + golf), which watch or compromise worked best for you?
Thank you in advance and apologies for the lengthy message!
