Impact customer acquisition optimization on LTV?

I’m trying to understand how optimizing customer acquisition can impact LTV over time. A lot of companies focus on lowering CAC, but cheaper acquisition doesn’t always mean better customers if those users churn quickly, buy less, or are a poor fit for the product.

For founders, marketers, or growth teams: how do you optimize acquisition in a way that improves LTV, not just signup volume? Do you focus on better targeting, stronger qualification, improved onboarding, higher-intent channels, messaging that attracts the right customers, or segmenting campaigns based on long-term value instead of short-term conversions?
