How to make a low earner but asset heavy partner pay child support?

hi,

We have been married for 7 years and have a 4 yr old child together.

Bit of history.

My husband is a doctor but he hardly works as it is v easy for him to pick up work when he wants as his skills are in high demand.

When he does work, he works as a contractor and writes off a lot of costs to the extent that there is a huge discrepency between his income and mine when reported on taxes.

We do not own any assets together and our finances are completely separate, he has a v good idea of my financial state as I am full time salaried. I have 0 clue into his as he is a contractor, v good at hiding money but I do know that he has invested a lot in stock market since 2008. So my guess is he is v asset rich.

Another detail, I pay almost all monthly expenses such a rent, our kid's activities (swim, skate, french lessons, math classes, groceries, furniture, etc.

He only bought me a car and he pays for vacations, car and rental insurance so not much.

On top of this , he is extremely unreliable and irresponsible. He leaves for overseas trips for no reason without warning and doesnt even tell us when he will be back. My kid is distraught about her father and so am I. He has requested to talk to our kid but I have refused as it is v upsetting for them.

Can someone please respond on how to get a handle on this issue?
