2014 Nissan Versa 1.6L CVT Repair
Mileage: 115,000
I was having some transmission issues (jolts when selecting gears, not shifting into higher gear ratio, etc.) and decided to replace the valve body myself. I purchased and installed a remanufactured valve body off of eBay, and have yet to do any sort of TCM relearn.
After the valve body was in and everything was buttoned up, I decided to go for a little test drive, despite the CEL. Immediately I was relieved that the car went into reverse with no jolt and could creep just fine, but when I applied some throttle to back out of my driveway, it seemed to slip or something as rpms went up and not much happened. Shifting into drive, there was no throttle response and the car would not creep by itself.
The next day, I scanned the car with my basic OBD tool, and found one P0847 code, and it refused to go away after I tried to reseat the external wiring harness connector and clear codes. I did also discover that the car can still creep in reverse, and only briefly responded to throttle in drive.
I was planning on bringing the car to a local shop after swapping valve bodies, in order to do a TCM relearn, as everything online mentioned that to be a necessary step. I'd like to ask: should I still try to get the relearn done, will it unbrick the car, or is there something else I need to try to do first?
tl;dr: replaced valve body and car wont drive now, how can I fix it?
I really just want to get this car in order so I can sell it, very worried I have just been wasting time and money. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
