1st year at GSV Vadodara....an overview.
So here is the synopsis of my first year at GSV Vadodara.
As we are all are done with first year some of us are at home laying on the bed getting bored ,some trying to reach home with those long haul of waiting list train tickets meanwhile some heading towards there internship destination.I thought why not reflect upon the one year that I spent here.
Starting with the September of 2025 ,that rainy fresh day and the Sabhagriha hall for the orientation session and all the excitement of how this place going to be for next four years, wandering over the top of the stanza terrace with moisty but cool wind and that heaven like peaceful vast of green plain visible over from the top ,ultimate peace ,at the same time bittersweet feeling of leaving home ,parents and friends and also giggling inside for the freedom I acquired coming from a small town.
Talking about academics.... first sem -absolute terrible -took things lightly, got humbled by profs somehow managed to pass all the subjects thanks to supply exams xD.. got 7.5+ sgpa not telling the branch as i don't wanna be talk of the town, fast forward second sem.... quite good ,getting above average marks in all the subjects except that mechanics paper which I fumbled taking the exam gap rather casually, hoping for around 9 sg this sem, let's see.
Coming to Social and personal life....made good friends from all over the branches even being a hardcore introverted person myself I found peeps here are so inclusive, so yeah over the year made lots of friends and strengthened bonds with many still fighting some gay allegations BTW, jk. No girlfriend for now yeah yeah quite obvious considering the gender ratio. Should I confess to my crush what do you guys say.
Sports...living in stanza and far from campus cut the exposure to sports facilities still participated in many sports ,overall enjoyed it.
Clubs....Haven't joined any club also the pain point is all the clubs revolve around few people or maybe I'm too shy too join them.
Connections...I know some seniors haven't talked to them much though most of the them are helpful. A question for seniors , I don't really know how to connect with y'all honestly as you guys are generally with your friends or in rush for the lectures or labs lol so I just wave as I see some familiar face passing by.
MUST to mention-STANZA LIVING- yea yea the food and water quality were terrific over the patch of period, the staffs there were good people NGL. I build hella lot of memories there than the college campus itself, that brisk walk in the evening and some cricket sessions aided me from the stress of hectic classes labs and all.I remember the flashbacks I was getting while packing up and leaving my hostel room.
OVERALL if not that great a good good first year of my btech from what I was expecting after fumbling hard in JEE Mains and Advanced.
Apologies for grammatical mistakes ,if any.
Wrapping up~A first yearite from GSV
Thanks for reading.
