4yo house, this was not present last fall. We live where it gets cold and snows. No issues with snow covering it this winter, but did discover a neighbors baby pool had blown and stuck right by it, maybe covered it for a period of time and kept moisture in versus a bad seal versus poorly treated/painted siding? No other sign of damage other than this. The wood is now completely dry.
