DIY kiln stilts firing help?
So I started a glaze firing an hour ago and realised I hadn’t bisque fired my diy kiln stilts. It is my first time using them and they are holding up a sculpture I spent a lot of time on. Should I stop the firing and reprogram the firing schedule to the ramp up would be slow (like a bisque)? Or is it okay if I fire it with my glaze schedule?
The stilts are not too thick maybe like 0,3 -0,5 cm but it does make me nervous. But I also don’t want to stop the kiln now. What should I do?
My firing schedule is
- 200°/2h
- soak for 10 minutes
- 1170/ 5h = 194° per hour
- soak 15 minutes
- 1140 /15 minutes
- soak 10 minutes
