Every open we had algae and larvae
Hello - western PA here. We have an above ground salt water pool using a Simple Salt system. The first 2 years opening were great. Clear, added the chemicals and had a great summer. The next year my husband didn’t add the chemicals because he was impatient and wanted it closed. Didn’t clean it didn’t add the winterizer kit and closed it. When we opened it the following year it was a swamp. Needless to say I was pissed. We shocked the crap out of it, got it cleaned up and used it throughout the summer. Closed it with chemicals, opened it to a swamp again. Shocked it, used the primer, cleaned it up, used it, closed it the right way again with chemicals etc only to open it LOADED with algae and larvae. I’m at my wits end. What are we doing wrong? We put 2 Shimmers, followed by 2 Vivid, then the tub of whatever the Simple Salt winter stuff is. We wait to close until the weather is consistently below 60 but n W.PA sometimes we get a burst of warmth in November. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m hating life right now.
