Took a tumble today.
My cross-body dog leash, that I was just storing on my shoulder/hip while riding, not using, somehow hooked itself around a fire hydrant right as I was about to turn into the bike lane from a parking area. going about 12 miles an hour( there was no traffic at that moment). Meanwhile, my reactive little gremlin was in her backpack on my back, being an absolute nut, and I let myself get distracted.
Next thing I knew… I was flying almost too close into new oncoming traffic.
A little banged up, but thankfully both the C Line Electric 4-speed and I are no worse for the wear. One thing I really appreciate about the Brompton is how low it sits to the ground.
I honestly think that helped keep me from being launched any farther.
Most importantly, pupper is completely fine.
does anyone have any idea? I have a 12 pound dog and I'd really like to carry her along on short rides...backpacks don't work so great bc she is lightly reactive, I'd rather have her on the bike, but secure. dog trailers make me nervous, is there any other option? I have the electric basket bag but its not spacious enough to put something DIY together bc of the battery. thanks
I have a new C Line Electric (Emotiq), and I’m having so much fun on this bike. I will say, though, that it doesn’t always stay completely folded when I have to carry it onto transit, but I’m hoping I can find a solution for that.
My main question is about my older M6L (2001). I’d like to get to know it better and figure out how to improve the ride. Compared to the Emotiq, it doesn’t feel nearly as smooth, and riding in windy conditions is pretty rough. That may be partly because my gear choreography isn’t very good yet, but I’m not sure.
If you were going to make one DIY upgrade to an older M6L to improve the ride quality, what would it be? I recently had it serviced, and the bike is mechanically sound, so I’m more interested in upgrades that improve ride feel rather than fixing worn parts. It still feels pretty clunky compared to the Emotiq, and I’d love to hear what upgrade gave you the biggest improvement on an older Brompton.
Recently bought a 4 speed electric C line. Love it. Ordered a Brompton basket bag and I can not get it to fit the way the other bag that came with the bike easily does. Battery goes into the bag fine, and I can attach it to the top lip but it takes a lot of force to push down on the block to get the full effect, and I can't get it to seat, afraid to force it. Is this normal? thanks
