For parents who sign their kids up to regular club soccer programs… the personal information collected by FA/FQ about our kids and shared with third parties is insane…I’m hesitant to supply so much information about my kids… but it means they won’t be able to play…

Do others have any thoughts on the ethics of this?
Am I thinking about it too much?
Is there a way around signing over data rights but still playing?

Things they collect and store (not sure why?): kids birth certificates and passports, credit card details must be stored, detailed personal info like DOB etc.m

Also I’ve got old mate at our local club telling me to email or text him the kids birth certificate… what?!
