Watching that MrBeast video where he challenged to stay in the wild for a month. Some people were quitting over minor stuff, which made me think, put Zimbabweans in the same challenge, and most would stay for the full $5k without blinking.

I am designing a system that automatically controls the traffic lights at a zebra crossing. I need safety sensors to detect human presence at both ends of the zebra crossing for a major road on a mine, but I can't seem to settle on one.

I have thought of PIR, and I can't seem to find the one that can safely work for this application.

I have also thought of a light curtain, but I am not sure if this is the appropriate application for that.

Any thoughts?
