What’s something you thought would be easier as an adult?

For me, probably managing expenses. Somehow there’s always another expense waiting around the corner 💀

Having a really bad day, and I genuinely want to know who was in the wrong here.
So, I gave some of my clothes to a dry cleaner, and when I got them back, around 3–4 pieces were badly damaged/burnt. These were recently purchased clothes, and the total value was around ₹6–7K.
I went back to the dry cleaner and told the guy, “Bro, these clothes are damaged. I need some compensation.”
He agreed to go with me to the maintenance office so we could check the CCTV and see what happened.
The problem was that the CCTV footage wasn’t clear enough to actually show the clothes getting damaged. Obviously, the camera can’t show the condition of the clothes before and after—the actual damage was clearly visible when I had the clothes in my hands.
When I confronted him about it, instead of taking responsibility or even saying something like, “Bhaiya, I’m sorry, I don’t know how this happened, let me see what I can do,” he kept arguing, saying, “It isn’t visible in the CCTV, so how can you say it happened here?”
He was also shouting and arguing with me in a tone that really pissed me off.
I lost my temper for a moment and grabbed him by the neck, and I was about to slap him. But then I noticed there was a camera there and stopped myself from doing anything further.
Looking back, I know getting physical was wrong. I shouldn’t have touched him, regardless of how angry I was.
But what really pissed me off was that he was the one who suggested going to the maintenance office to check the CCTV, and then when the CCTV wasn’t conclusive, he suddenly acted like there was absolutely no possibility that he was responsible.
At one point I even thought, “Fine, maybe he’s financially struggling. I might just let it go.” I probably would have been much more willing to forgive him if he had simply come to me, acknowledged the damage and tried to find a solution.
Then a woman who apparently claimed to be connected to some local political group came over and started supporting him after hearing only his side of the story. She kept talking about how he’s a poor guy and making it seem like I was unnecessarily targeting him.
That’s what frustrated me even more. How can someone decide who’s right when they’ve only heard one side of the story?
And who the fuck is she ?

I’m not saying I handled everything perfectly—I know grabbing him was wrong.
But considering the damaged clothes, his refusal to even acknowledge the possibility that he caused the damage, the constant arguing, and then someone jumping in without knowing the full story…
Honestly, who do you think was in the wrong here?
