So call it a mid life crisis or me just finally discovering my love for fragrances but about 2 months ago the random cologne I picked up at bath and body works, canyon. Was running out and I found out it was discontinued.

It made curious to finally buy a designer fragrance and I fell in love with Creed Aventus. (I later learned this is a niche house not a designer) However because of the price I went with Montblanc Explorer as my daily/signature. Well having two why not see what else is out there right? Next thing I know I’m building a whole collection based on different occasions and now I have collected 9 bottles.

I promised my wife I would limit my collection to 10 and curb the spending so I’m taking my time deciding my tenth and have been exploring all kinds of different profiles.

I have fallen in love with the hobby and would love to get everyone’s opinions about my collection so far and any recommendations for the 10th slot.

I have learned I don’t want the last spot to be just different to be different but I want to WANT to wear it like I do everything I have right now. The lead contender for me is Y EDP but I already have so many blues so I’m holding off to see if I can find something different I love.

My latest pick up was Bleu de Chanel and I absolutely love it. If you have any suggestions for my final slot I’m open to looking.

I’ve not loved gourmand, sugar bombs, or incense. I would love to find something in a new category I love just haven’t yet.

So I never really took the time to explore the world of fragrances even though I’ve been in love with wearing something since I was a kid and go a hold of my dads adidas aftershave.

I shifted to cool water as a teen, then candies, and then nothing for almost 20 years until on a whim at the mall I smelled “Aventus” a couple of months ago and it’s like something opened up for me and I started on a crazy exploration of the world of fragrances and now I have managed to grab 8 different bottles in just under two months. My wife is very over my new obsession so I decided to come here and finally share just how much fun and exciting this journey has been so far.

What’s one scent that made you realize you were in deep?

My tastes so far:
• Fresh, woody, citrus, and aquatic stuff is my lane.
• I like clean, versatile daily wearers that actually perform, plus a couple stronger ones for nights out.
• Not into heavy gourmands or super sweet/vanilla bombs. Baccarat Rouge 540 does nothing for me.
