Motability/Blue Badge Congestion Charge Exemption
Hi, I have today made a journey into London in the congestion zone during congestion charge hours. I have just gone online to make the payment and it won't let me because it says my vehicle is exempt.
I have a 2026 Kia Sportage Petrol that is definitely not exempt in terms of the vehicle type.
I know that you can apply and pay a fee to TFL to register your vehicle as exempt. But I have never done that, and everywhere I try to look for info online suggests that whilst it is possible to register the vehicle exempt, this doesn't happen automatically and wouldn't have been done on my behalf by either Motability, the Blue Badge issuers, or the dealership.
Has this happened to anyone else? I'm worried if I don't make a payment I'll be slapped with a retrospective fine!
Reddit is telling me to add the area of the UK that I live in, which is obviously irrelevant but I live in Surrey, England and travelled into London.
