The original paint job imo is extremely lazy and look cheap af. The laser gun not being painted is also lame. I think this looks way better, and matches his original design much closer.

Made these last week, wanted to share my progress!

I absolutely love the hand drawn character portraits for every character in this game. Even different series varients get unique art, like man these portraits are beautiful. Right here its series 1 and 2 lightning rod, look how cool the unique art is for each series varient! Im a sucker for good character portraits lol.

Did the eyes and gave them a glossy finish!

Thought of making Rip Tide into a statue, since in the lore he was considered a master fighter in the tournaments he fought in. Like, they made a statue of their champion and this is what it would look like. Bit of blue paint and some copper rust since it's underwater.

I tried lol

Made it shiny and metallic like the real ones, came out pretty good imo

My 3rd Custom so far, its really fun making these.

Short story about the figure, i got him for 1 dollar at a swap meet, he was dirty and beat up with a bunch of scratches. I felt bad for it, so I took him home with me, cleaned him up and then thought about giving him a new paint job to give it a second life, and then a legendary varient came to mind, and bam.

Found this beauty at a mom and pop game store for $45, not too bad imo. Still very glad to finally have this in my collection!

An attempt was made. Gonna try and get some better paints for it next time and try again. Also I really messed up the middle part :(

What do you guys think of a mastery skin for each character? Basically you'd reach max level and complete all thier quests, and also get all the upgrades to unlock the mastery skin. In game variants for characters will also have their own unique mastery skin too, so its not the same as the original figure. Here's an example, and yes I used A.I for the color swap because im busy and this is a "on the toilet" idea.

The radically different paint quality on these, wild.

Who do you think would be a good skylanders rep for smash? I'm kinda leaning towards Stealth Elf but she seems pretty obvious. Any other somewhat likely candidates? Or does she seem like the only real choice.
