My Experience with Interviewing
I’ll start by saying I don’t typically post on Reddit but was using this subreddit during my interview process so I thought id share my experience as well.
Recruiter reached out to me on LI for a Sr. Eng role on the manufacturing team about a month ago and hopped on a call the same day.
After the recruiter screen I did the hiring manager interview followed by the technical dive the following week. After the technical interview I was invited onsite where I prepared a presentation and had 4 interviews followed by a technical talk over lunch. I loved the campus and got great feedback after all interviews. When I returned home from the onsite the following week the recruiter told me everything went well and the hiring manager would like to connect one last time and the conversation would be casual. I was expecting a light conversation about the role and to ultimately be given a verbal yes/no. However, it was another technical interview but only lasted about 15 minutes.
Unfortunately, two days later I received my rejection email. Obviously I was let down, especially since I had already completed 8 interviews plus a recruiter screen and presentation. I only received positive feedback after every interview so I’m not exactly sure what caused the rejection but it was definitely good interview practice.
This post is not meant to complain or wonder why I wasn’t selected but just to outline the interview process as I experienced it. Hopefully this will be insightful for someone.
