Melbourne's latest tram stop upgrade, stop 133 Moreland Station on route 6, is now in use!

Some things just come best in pairs…

A very unusual day for Melbourne tram gunzels as two rare sights occurred today, with A1 240 running on the route 58 and Z3 223 running on the route 19. This is alongside the current route 1 D classes due to route 6 being diverted to East Coburg.

all I can say is I genuinely wish I was kidding…

Taken onboard a rare sight, as B class trams do not usually operate on route 6 anymore, and if that wasnt weird enough this was a route 6a from Glen Iris to EAST COBURG, not Moreland.

1. stop number before stop name (only happens at this stop when heading outbound on a depot run)

2. change here for route 57 (theres no 57 at haymarket

3. why does it say haymarket so slowly

G1 7006 has made its maiden service on route 59 today

first trains supposedly cant fit in the metro tunnel, now G class trams supposedly cant fit in the Moonee Ponds Junction siding for the route 82 terminus, yet at 5:27 in the video linked below it magically fits. It feels like this is just ragebait for Sky News/News24 to go on about…

This is a follow up post to my earlier post today about a street in Thornhill Park called ‘Gunzel Street’. I was just looking around and noticed that its not the only railway related street in the area, as there also other nearby streets called Express Lane, Conductor Road, Whistle Driver and Sprinter Drive all circled above (theres also a Pauline Hanson Street next to Gunzel Street).

It is worth noting that Morningside Drive (the street that runs parallel to the railway track) is further back from the railway than the other streets. Is it possible that the leftover space is for a future Thornhill Park railway station to be built here?

if anyone wants to visit these streets for themselves, then it will be doable from 26 July 2026 when the route 451 bus begins service from Cobblebank Station to Thornhill Park

I have noticed that a lot of tram stops are missing the NaviLens scan code, such as here where it is nowhere to be seen. Was NaviLens removed from trams with no official announcement or are people just stealing the scanners?

Just built the B class tram for my roblox tram project, now running alongside the existing Z, A, D1 and D2 class trams. Several photos are attached showing the tram in a few different locations as well as the interior. Z3 186 and D2 5006 can also be seen alongside B2 2072 in some of the above photos.
