Let me start out by saying I love the controller (Xbox Elite Series 2), I've had multiple for years and have never gotten drift or bad buttons, as some have stated. But my gripe is the fucking terrible Microsoft USB adapter (for PC use)...

I've gone through 3. - and they aren't cheap.. and more recently becoming hard to find

They just "die" and won't reconnect to any controller in the house, regular or elite. I've tried troubleshooting steps up and down, but it never resolves. Plugging in a new one makes the controller work again. So I was thinking maybe I just needed a 3rd-party adapter, so I tried 4 different ones, and they all had random issues: low polling rates, high latency, random disconnects, or not even pairing.

So I need help either finding a good adapter, it just needs to work well, and I only need it for Xbox controllers, must be high polling + low latency, ideally can support more than one controller, but that's minimal, I'm fine buying 2 adapters.

-or-

An alternative controller, it sucks to say I love these from the Elite 1s till now, but what good is a controller that doesn't have a good wireless connection? For an alternative controller, ideally hefty (I'm an aggressive player, so it needs to be rugged) and super, super ideally dockable for charging. That small upgrade is so fucking nice, I'm open to any price range
