Medicaid
Hello, fellow caretakers in the US. I need to get Medicaid for my husband to cover in-home or daycare while I work. Unfortunately, I make more than would normally qualify for Medicaid- and not enough to pay for these services out of pocket. I have a family member willing to pay for a lawyer consultation, but I'd rather avoid taking them up on the offer if possible. (They're already helping us a lot.)
In your experiences, is it better to apply for Medicaid and hope it gets accepted, and get a lawyer if it doesn't? Or just bite the bullet and use the lawyer from the start? We live in Virginia, if that matters. How long did it take for you to get an acceptance or to make an appeal?
Why does everything have to be so complicated?! Thanks for your advice and understanding.
