Sourcing 8090 Aluminum for machining
Does anyone know where to buy this from and what forms/shapes it is produced in?
Not sure if this is a best place to ask, but I have been wanting to see what exists out there for this. I know its used in sheet form for aerospace applications but I am trying to find any sort of source that would make this in thick (5/8" to 4") sheet or bar forms for machining. There may be other grades that are better suited, I have no specific preference to 8090, I am just looking for this in relation to the increased modulus and decreased density due to the lithium addition. I have customers who would pay for this, but have had trouble ever finding a source through my local suppliers for it, or even a good understanding of what forms it comes in.
There may be a better sub to submit this question to, if there is please let me know, I looked at r/materials but that was all over the place discussions wise.
