Wound dehiscence? Freaking out!

Wound dehiscence? Freaking out!

6 weeks post bilateral mastectomy with Director to implant reconstruction. After post op visit 2 days ago, was advised I could start using silicone scar sheets. When I removed it to shower, clear yellow fluid was under the dressing and it seems the top of the incision has separated? No foul discharge, no fever. I slapped a piece of gauze on it and popped a Xanax. I have a call to my provider, waiting for a call back.

How bad is this? Trying not to spiral…

Wound dehiscence - Freaking out

I’m almost 6 weeks post DMX with DTI reconstruction. Had my follow up with plastics 2 days ago and they cleared me to start applying silicone sheets to the incision.

Lo and behold, I went to remove the silicone sheet before hopping in the shower and there was serous fluid oozing out. It seems like the top 1 cm of the incision is separating. Not being able to feel a damn thing doesn’t help.

I threw a gauze pad over the incision, will contact the surgeon’s office in the morning.

I am so freaked out that I’m gonna lose the implant.
