Why is it a popular opinion that the Burevestnik is typically stronger than the Bartini?
I've been thinking about this for a while because in my opinion, it doesnt seem to make a lot of sense. The Bartini not only has more options for all kinds of combat, but it also has good enough Anti Air to allow for the free missile slot to go towards an actually damaging missile, instead of an AA missile that the Burevestnik needs.
Yes, the Burevestnik has the grenade launcher to deal with torpedoes and subs, but the Bartini can be equipped with an anti sub helicopter like the OH-1 Ninja to deal with them, so it seems kinda redundant. Lets not forget about the Bartini's planes, cause they pack a punch and can easily finish off a retreating enemy behind cover, something a Burevestnik cant do without exposing itself.
So then I ask, what gives? Why is the Bartini considered the weakest Tier III Ekranoplan?
