How Is Everyone Feeling About Stacking Gold at These Prices?

How is everyone feeling about stacking gold right now?
My goal has been to buy two ounces each year. This year, I bought one ounce when gold was around $5,000, but I’m finding it difficult to buy the second ounce at these prices.

Are you still stacking consistently, slowing down, or waiting for a pullback? Do you pay attention to the current price, or just keep buying whenever you can?

Lake Crescent Lodge

We’ve spent every New Year’s at Lake Crescent Lodge for the past four years, so it’s become a bit of a tradition for us.

I was looking at booking this year and was surprised to see the nightly rates have increased to around 3× what we used to pay. From what I could find, it looks like ExploreOlympic took over management of both the lodge and the restaurant around April 2026.
Has anyone stayed there since the management change? How was your experience?
I’m especially curious about:
Has the food improved?
How’s the service?
Any noticeable renovations or changes?
Overall, do you think it’s worth the new prices?
When we stayed last December (before the change), it was unfortunately the worst service and food we’d experienced there, which was disappointing because we absolutely love the location. I’m hoping the new management has turned things around.
