Akunin
Not very rare, but may be interesting.
The contemporary Georgian-Russian author Grigori Shalvovich Chkhartishvili is wildly popular, but is effectively exiled as “foreign agent” (i.e. an enemy of the state) for his anti-Putinism.
His most successful nom de plume is “Boris Akunin”, punning on the early revolutionary anarchist Mikhail Bakunin.
So how does he autograph his books? In a sort of Japanese, since “Akunin” also puns on the Japanese word 悪人 - “villain”. I assume he explains this to everyone he signs for, as he did to me. His version of the Japanese isn’t much like the original, but it is what it is.
