Always forget everything when i was on a vinyl fair so i build a wingman who knows it all.
You know the feeling, walking on that vinyl fair and you just forget your wish list, important things to look for and just go nuts. Your looking at albums not knowing if these are a original release or reissue, squinting at the run-out trying to see which pressing it is just to find out you forgot everything. And when you buy you know you are going home to research it again in the Steve Hoffman forum thread just to find out...... you already have it.
I got sick of it, so over the last 6 months i built the perfect wingman. Now i simply scan the barcode or catalog number of a sleeve and it tells you immediately which release it is, what country/year/plant, and whether you already own it or it's on your wishlist. There's a Spotify link right there so you can preview the album at the table.
Type or photograph the dead wax and it decodes everything for you on the spot. And beside this there's also album information, reviews, tools for conditioning & Grading, playback and setup and so much more.
It's called Groove Guru, runs in the browser, no app install. Would appreciate your thoughts
Now i am ready for the next vinyl fair. Genuinely interested in your thoughts!
