Repeated level crossing failures
Hi,
The town I live in has a level crossing which is notorious for failing in the down position, however on a few occasions it has failed in the up position (always when NR are in attendance after it has failed in the down) - it’s the Smithy Bridge LC (featured in the MEN as per the attached link).
Is there a known reason for this?
I did see someone share a risk assessment for another level crossing but in my (brief) search online I wasn’t able to find a similar document.
With repairs taking place on the Huddersfield line there are additional trains being re routed via the Calder Valley so these failures seem to be happening more frequently (than I can ever remember before - however up until 2014? Ish there was a signal box).
