How do you handle scraping your foot pegs?
Hello guys!
I’ve had a Vulcan 650S for about six months now, and it’s been a pleasure to ride!
Today, I went on a small road trip (~300 km) and scraped my foot peg on the ground. It wasn’t the first time (probably the third), but this time it scraped for longer and much harder than before.
I was leaning at around 39 degrees (at least according to my Insta360 with the GPS remote control, I’m not sure how accurate it really is, but it seems pretty close). It honestly scared me and made me straighten the bike up immediately.
I’m wondering: how do you guys deal with this? I know some riders scrape their pegs in almost every corner without even thinking about it. That’s not really my goal, but I’d like to stop being surprised or scared when it happens because of the lean angle.
What’s your experience with this?
And second question: how do you position your feet on the pegs? The first time I scraped a peg, my foot touched the ground before the peg did, which feels kind of wrong to me.
Thank you! ✌️
