Which Fighting Style Fits This Devil Fruit Best? I’d Love Your Opinions/Votes
Which Fighting Style Fits This Devil Fruit Best?
I’m building a character around the Bond Bond Devil Fruit (Bondo Bondo no Mi), and I’m trying to decide what fighting style would fit them best.
I have a few ideas, but I’d really like to hear what people think. If you had to pick one of these four styles, which one would you choose and why?
The main thing I want for this character is speed, acceleration, and unpredictable movement.
They would place Kiss Marks around the battlefield and use their Attraction Bonds to launch themselves from one mark to another. They could suddenly change direction, speed toward an enemy, attack, and then launch themselves toward another Kiss Mark.
The longer they move around the battlefield, the faster and harder they become to predict.
1. Slapping: Shockwave Style
This would be a hand to hand fighting style focused on fast slaps and palm strikes.
The user can kiss their hands and place Bonding Brands on their palms. They can then bond their hands to an enemy or another target, causing their hands to shoot toward them at high speed.
The faster they accelerate, the harder the slap hits. Their attacks could create powerful shockwaves from the impact.
They could also use Kiss Marks around the battlefield to launch themselves toward enemies and attack from different directions.
Basically:
Kiss → accelerate → slap → redirect → repeat.
2. Bloodless Blade: Rapier Style
This would be a rapier fighting style focused on speed and precision.
The user fights with a rapier called the Bloodless Blade. They stay very still before suddenly drawing the blade and attacking at incredible speed.
They place Kiss Marks around the battlefield and use Attraction Bonds to launch themselves from one point to another.
Each Kiss makes the next movement faster. As they keep accelerating, they start creating afterimages and become harder to follow.
The final stage would have them moving so fast that they look like they are appearing all over the battlefield at once.
3. Attracting Assault Style (martial artist using fruit)
This would be a full body fighting style where the user uses their own body as a weapon.
They can place Bonding Brands on their fists, feet, knees, elbows, and other parts of their body.
They could bond their foot to an enemy and launch a kick at extreme speed, bond themselves to a wall to change direction, or use an enemy as an attraction point to suddenly change direction during a combo.
The user would constantly be moving, bouncing between Kiss Marks and attacking from different angles.
They almost fight like a WWE wrestler, they can even use slam attacks and accelerate it using the fruit. For example, marking a person with the fruit, and throwing them towards kiss mark and it accelerates the impact.
The idea is to make them feel like they are constantly flying, kicking, punching, and changing direction without giving the opponent much time to figure out where the next attack is coming from.
4. Cupid’s Crossbow: Ranged Style
This style would focus on a special crossbow called the Cupid’s Crossbow.
The user would kiss their arrows before firing them, placing Bonding Brands on each arrow.
Once an arrow hits a target, the user can create Attraction Bonds between the arrow and other marked targets.
This could allow arrows to curve through the air, change direction, chase marked targets, or return toward the user.
The user could also mark objects around the battlefield and use them with the arrows. For example, they could shoot an arrow past an enemy, bond the arrow to the enemy, and have it suddenly change direction and fly back toward them.
With enough marked objects and arrows, the entire battlefield could become a web of attacks coming from different directions.
