My parents are against my marriage because of "Paapa Samyam" (High Paavam). Has anyone else ignored the charts and been okay?

I’m writing this with a really heavy heart and I honestly don't know where else to turn. My boyfriend and I have been together for a while now, and we’ve reached a point where we’re ready to spend the rest of our lives together. We were planning to get married next year, and honestly, I’ve never been happier or more certain about a person.
However, things took a devastating turn recently. My parents took our details to an astrologer to check our Jathaga Kuripu (horoscope matching). They came back and told us that my "paavam" count is significantly higher than his. Specifically, my count is 42 and his is 19.
For those who know Tamil astrology, they explained this as Paapa Samyam. Because my malefic energy is so much higher than his, they were told it’s a "bad match." They are now convinced that if we marry, it will lead to constant arguments, health issues for him, or even a shorter lifespan for my partner.
My parents are now completely against the marriage. They love me, and I know they are just scared for my future and for his well-being, but it feels so unfair. I love this man more than words can say, and the idea of losing him over numbers on a chart is breaking me. He is my best friend, my support system, and the person I feel safest with.
I wanted to ask this community: Does anyone know of a couple—or are you part of one—who got married despite the girl having much higher paavam?
