Hello - I am using School of PE to study for my Civil WRE exam and I am not sure where they got the FS equations from for sliding/overturning. Does anyone know where these FS equations are located in the handbook or how I should derive them from a handbook equation? I never took a geotech class in college, so a lot of these concepts are new to me.

I recently started studying for my exam in September and I realized a lot of the geotech problems don't reference equations given in the handbook, like the one above. Are these questions realistic to what is given in the actual exam?
