GV60 battery replacement--i need to calibrate it, now?

the short version is i needed a new main battery for my 2023 GV60. i just got the car back and it seems to be draining faster than it used to, and the tech told me i need to calibrate it by letting it get to 10% or so and then charging to 80 (which is where i typically keep it, except for the monthly 100% charge i give it).

that sounds like iPhone advice to me, not automotive advice.

after some online searching, my impression is that the BMS needs to recalibrate its *state of charge* readings, which happens with normal charge and discharge use, not draining the battery. since my dealer doesn't seem to be a viable source for information, and i get really nervous in my small town with less than about 30% charge, does anyone here know?

if you've had a battery replacement--thank god for the warranty--i'd love to hear from you. TIA.
