Hey everyone!

We have a lemon tree that was beautiful all throughout last year, but unfortunately we weren’t able to take good care of it over the winter months due to travels.

I’m not expert at this and I’m seeking advice as to what I can do to give this tree the best chance of survival.

Above my finger it seems to be totally dead (no green cambium layer found after scratch test). Below it, it’s alive.

ChatGPT is telling me to cut it right above where my finger is, but before I’d dare make such a big move based on AI’s recommendation, I thought I’d ask you guys, since I’m sure you have more experience with this than me and even ChatGPT.
