Yeah, i can tell this story is true

When Miyazaki was beaten as a child, his father swung the belt with a delay so he couldn’t dodge — everyone knows that. But few know the continuation of this great story.

One day Miyazaki adapted to it, memorized every possible belt swing pattern, and no longer took any damage. But his father wasn’t deterred and spent two years finding a way to surprise his beloved son again. Now he dealt ten times more damage with the belt, jumped around the room like a madman, and used fast strike combinations (mixed in with the old familiar delays), so Miyazaki’s eyes couldn’t focus on him. But the father knew that wasn’t enough to surprise his son, so now his belt always dealt area damage in case his son tried to roll behind his back. And even when Miyazaki thought he was safe and could drink his bottle of Fanta, the belt attack would reach him from across the room.

These memories so strongly inspired Miyazaki that he dedicated an entire DLC for his game Elden Ring to them.
