I have seen quite a few people posting here saying the Stock Photo site Unsplash is the source of the image. It's not; that is just the earliest date. The photo is also found on the Artists Distinct Mind's website. What's strange to me is that this is the only image on the site that has its own menu link.
The artist's real name appears to be Jeanlouis Rebello from Toronto, Canada. He has many accounts online and appears to be a musician and photographer.
His Github suggests he uses AI quite often.
His Pinterest backs up the AI usage
My best guess is that the image is AI-generated.
His Youtube and Vimeo are very bizarre. Lyrics to one of his songs include "You will see people rushing around wildly like chickens with their heads cut off... And they think they're going somewhere.... and there completely deluded. They're there and they dont know it, thats why they are rushing around so wildly. But you by this means can begin to learn that you are there now."
No idea what any of this means, but I wanted to share what I have discovered.
Until a few hours ago, I would have said you were all crazy. I set out to debunk this and now I am left with a lot of questions.
